Continuing Education Credits Information

To obtain Continuing Education credits you must visit the Berkshire Area Health Education Center (AHEC) website. To obtain Continuing Education credits following completion of training, you must first complete an on-line evaluation survey. Please note that you will have up to 90 days to apply for credits. The survey is required for Continuing Education credits; if you anticipate applying for credits, you must complete this survey.

Berkshire AHEC issues the Continuing Education credits, and is not connected to the CANS Training program or the Assessment and Clinical Understanding training website. The following professions have approved CE's for successful completion:

Social Work

This program has been approved for 10 Social Work Continuing Education hours for relicensure, in accordance with 258 CMR. Collaborative of NASW and the Boston College and Simmons Schools of Social Work Authorization Number D80216. The fee is $100.

Marriage and Family Therapists

This activity has been certified by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Mental Health & Human Services Professions, for LMFT professional continuing education. 10 Hours Certification, Certification # PC- 034379. The fee is $100.

LMHC

This program has been approved for 10 hours, Category I MaMHCA hours for re-licensure, in accordance with262 CMR.  The fee is $100.

Nursing

This program meets the requirements for 10 nursing contact hours as specified by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing - 244 CMR 5.04. The fee is $100.

Substance Abuse Counselors

This program has been approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health for 10 hours of continuing educations units for Massachusetts Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LADC). The fee is $100.

Psychologists

CEs for psychologists are provided by The Spiritual Competency Academy (SCA) which is co-sponsoring this program. The Spiritual Competency Academy is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Spiritual Competency Academy maintains responsibility for the program and its content. For questions about CE, contact Spiritual Competency Academy at info@spiritualcompetencyacademy.com. The fee is: $140 for 10 credits of Psychology.

To obtain CE credits, you will be presented with a link to the Berkshire Area Health Education Center (AHEC) website when you have completed the survey. You must complete the survey if you wish to obtain Continuing Education Credits.

Instructions for obtaining CE credits:

  1. Visit Berkshire AHEC, Inc.
  2. Click on the "Register" button in the green bar
  3. Select CBHI Assessment & Clinical Understanding and click "add"
  4. Under "Your Selection" you will see the Assessment and Clinical Training added
  5. Click "Continue"
  6. You will be prompted to set up an account, username/password
  7. Proceed with your contact information, please note, your certificate will be mailed to the address entered.
  8. Check out and make payment
  9. Do not enroll into the Active Advantage, close window or click No Thanks
  10. Certificates are mailed on a weekly basis.
